Oregon Photo Gallery
Introduction
The Oregon Flora Photo Gallery is an online resource that is under development. It is based on the Oregon Flora Project’s collection of over 38,000 images and the database holding information associated with each image. The Photo Gallery will feature multiple images of each species, subspecies, and variety of vascular plants that grow in Oregon without cultivation. These will include photographs depicting the plant’s habitat, its general habit, flowers, details of important characters, and as available, technical illustrations. The identification of all images will be verified by Oregon Flora Project staff before being displayed in the Photo Gallery. Images of Oregon specimens from the OSU Herbarium are also part of the Photo Gallery. These serve as a valuable resource for researchers. The type specimens of the OSU Herbaria and their published descriptions can be accessed here. Our first installment of verified images will be posted here in the near future.
