  OREGON FLORA PROJECT FEATURES:

The Oregon Vascular Plant Checklist:

An up-to-date checklist of Oregon's native and naturalized vascular plants. As major components of the checklist are completed, they are posted in a searchable format on the OFP website. The Online Searchable Database for Asteraceae is available for public use.

The text version of the May 2000 Oregon Vascular Plant Checklist: Asteraceae, published by Dr. Kenton Chambers and Dr. Scott Sundberg.

The Oregon Vascular Plant Atlas:

An online atlas featuring distribution maps for all of Oregon’s vascular plant taxa. The Oregon Vascular Plant Atlas is searchable and available to the public.

Users of the online Atlas are able to select any native or naturalized vascular plant species in Oregon and retrieve a map such as the one shown above. Further information can be obtained on locality, habitat, elevation, associated species, collection date, and collecter by clicking on an individual dot. Sensitive information, such as exact locality data of endangered plants, are protected. Slides, such as the one shown above of the Iris tenax (Oregon iris), will be available online in the future.

The Flora of Oregon:

A one-volume manual of the vascular plants of Oregon. The flora will include identification keys, illustrations, and species descriptions of Oregon plants. It will be available in both printed and electronic forms.

The Oregon Photo Gallery:

An online photo gallery featuring multiple images of each species, subspecies, and variety of uncultivated vascular plants in Oregon. Images will include photographs depicting the plant’s habitat, its general habit, flowers, details of important characters, a representative herbarium specimen, and as available, technical illustrations. As with the other online features, the Photo Gallery will be searchable and available to the public.
